![]() My definition of what constitutes an "RPG" encompass several criteria, which can be found in the FAQ.Ĥ. Exceptions made and ambiguity resolved at my discretion.ģ. Console games do not appear on my playlist unless they also had PC releases during their original release schedule (generally within 2 years of the console release). To appear on my play list, a game must be a a) single-player RPG released for a personal computer, and b) in a language that uses a Latin alphabet. I am going in chronological order on two sections of the list: a) all RPGs in the 1990s, and b) non-PC RPGs that I missed during my first four years of blogging when I played only games released for DOS.Ģ. I am following a list of CRPGs in chronological order derived from several sources, including Wikipedia, MobyGames, GameFAQs, and contributions from readers. Read the original posting explaining this blog and this posting to understand the current playing order.ġ. Antepenult: Won! I turn moderation on and off and "word verification" on and off frequently depending on the volume of spam I'm receiving. If you want to use the commenting system to alert me to them, great, I appreciate it, but there's no reason to leave such comments preserved for posterity. I will delete any comments that simply point out typos. There is no such thing as "necro-posting" on this blog, and thus no need to use that term. As such, all comment threads on this blog are live and active unless I specifically turn them off. Reader comments on "old" games continue to supplement our understanding of them. I read all comments, no matter how old the entry. I will delete these on a case-by-case basis depending on my interpretation of what constitutes a "slur."īlogger has a way of "eating" comments, so I highly recommend that you copy your words to the clipboard before submitting, just in case. Comments on my blog are not a place for slurs against any race, sex, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, or mental or physical disability. Please at least mention "ROT13" in the comment so we don't get a lot of replies saying "what is that gibberish?"ĥ. I appreciate if you use ROT13 for explicit spoilers for the current game and upcoming games. If you don't want to log in to Google to comment, either a) choose the "Name/URL" option, pick a name for yourself, and just leave the URL blank, or b) sign your anonymous comment with a preferred user name in the text of the comment itself.Ĥ. It makes it impossible to tell who's who in a thread. I will delete comments containing profanity on a case-by-case basis.ģ. I don't want my blog flagged by too many filters. Please avoid profanity and vulgar language. (For instance, that GOG is selling the particular game I'm playing is relevant that Steam is having a sale this week on other games is not.) This also includes user names that link to advertising.Ģ. Do not link to any commercial entities, including Kickstarter campaigns, unless they're directly relevant to the material in the associated blog posting. I welcome all comments about the material in this blog, and I generally do not censor them. But you can absolutely leave him for dead in Freedom once you've gotten past the point you need him. Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure the monks will revive Stefano, so you can't get permanently trapped. It takes a lot of scripting to do even the most basic "pick an available party member" logic. I've been reading the dialogue script as we go through this and I'm not surprised to see bugs like this. That bug with Boydon commenting on his own smell is funny. The hintbook has him lead Thoxa through it to show it off and joke about leaving her in there (after she rejected his advances). I kind of assume all of the weird stuff in Freedom was set up by Filbercio. Stefano himself mentions that he uses magic scrolls. I believe Flindo also says Stefano "would rather be a skilled thief than a novice mage". Topo says that Stefano "can cast a spell or two, he is not very good at it" and that he "shuns his magic". am I dreaming, or is he real?" Exult has subtitles for these (and the Guardian in Black Gate). There is a voice clip that should have played here: "A new Hero has entered this world. The serpent vision is not saying "Welcome back!" I think that's Shamino.
